Am Tien Pagoda

Am Tien is next to Hoa Lu ancient capital. It was the place that Dinh Tien Hoang King built to threaten  prisoners and Duong Van Nga Queen used the pagoda there to contemplate until she passed away. It is surrounded by mountains and a large green lake. tourists may feel like they had just disappeared from the real world to get lost in such a hidden fairy site.

Long time ago, it’s the place to hold tigers and panthers to kill prisoners. They feeded Giai which is an huge and furious predator to in Giai lake to threaten prisoners.  Le Dai Hanh King also used it to hold Quach Quan Bien, Trieu Phung Huan invaders from China from 981 to 986. There is 205 steps to go to Am Tien cave in the middle of the mountain. The shape of the cave looks like the mouth of dragon so it has another name is Dragon cave. Inside the cave, it has a lot of stalactites with amazing shapes. Duong Van Nga used Am Tien pagoda for comtemplating and it has a poem inside the pagoda to tell about her life.
