Thung Nang of Ninh Binh Province is a flooded area next to Tam Coc and close to Bich Dong. While Tam Coc is flanked by rice fields and has more activities, Thung Nang is a pristine and untouched area.
To get to Thung Nang, you’ll travel for 1 km from Tam Coc on the way to Bich Dong Pagoda. The rowing boat trip at Thung Nang is about 2hours 15 minutes. Thung Nang is located in Dan Khe village, Ninh Hai Commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province. Thung Nang or also called Sunshine Valley is a new tourism route that connects Bich Dong with Voi Dai temple, thung Nang valley, Nang grotto, and trekking trail to Doi Nham Resort. Thung Nang Valley is a complex of historical relics and natural beauty which can organize some types of tourism: Religion tourism, Eco tourism, sightseeing, grottoes discovery, mountain climbing, etc.
The entrance way to Thung Nang is right before your eyes with the beautiful sky, immense river scenery, imposing mountain and mysterious caves. On the river sides is the green colour of reeds. Outstanding on the way between ripe paddy-fields are the roofs of peaceful local houses. There is a ancient Voi Temple designed with sophisticated architecture on the entrance way.
As you reach Thung Nang, you can visit two main temple there and then climb up to the mountain to have an overview of the whole Thung Nam. Visitors to Thung Nang have a great opportunity to enjoy the huge and full of sunlight space. These memories are definitely unforgettable!
The rowing boat trip at Sun Valley is about 2 hours and 15 minutes and you have to pay 60.000 VND for a boat (4 Vietnamese people or 2 foreigners). You need to add to that the sightseeing ticket : 100,000 VND per person.
