Phong Nha Khe Bang National Park has a lot of cave exploration and trekking adventures to offer. A few activities are possible to do by yourself, including Phong Nha Cave, Paradise Cave, Dark Cave, Mooc Spring Eco Trail or Botanical Garden. If you don’t drive a motorbike and you want to visit safely by car with a tour guide you can book the Classic National Park tour or the Jungle Boss National Park tour. These tours are nice, but can be very touristy. If you want something more adventurous and off the beaten path we suggest you choose a tour from the following list.
Paradise Cave 7km Adventure – 1 day: 2,500,000 vnd
This stunning cave is perhaps the most beautiful one that you can visit independently. Paradise Cave is the largest dry cave in the world. The first 1km can be seen by anybody, either on a tour or by visiting the cave by yourself. For a longer adventure you can do the 7km trek into the cave is only available as a guided tour. More info
The Abandoned Valley – 1 day: 1,650,000 vnd
The Abandoned Valley trek in a remote area of the world heritage Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park is traversed by part of the famous Ho Chi Minh trail. This tour includes hiking 12km of the Ho Chi Minh trail, exploring the Vietnamese tropical forest and learning about the history of the Vietnam-American war as you trek along the narrow track. Explore the other exit of the now famous Dark Cave, and enjoy the unspoiled Hang E where you can swim in a crystal clear natural spring. Hang E is one of the most beautiful river caves in the Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. Enjoy a barbecue lunch in the jungle prepared by your guides. Tra Ang Cave & Ma Da Valley – 1 day: 1,650,000 vnd – 2 days: 4,500,000 vnd
The Ma Da Valley was opened to tourism in August 2016. This new area of the world heritage Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park includes the Tra Ang cave and Ma Da Lake. The tour is 8km of trekking in the jungle of Ma Da Valley, and exploring the Vietnamese tropical forest. This tour is a great opportunity to get into the jungle without taking on a major expedition in an area where few tourists have been before. Nuoc Nut – 1 day: 1,650,000 vnd
Hang Nuoc Nut was first officially explored in 2003. With the length of 2.2 km the cave is a part of Phong Nha Cave System and hydro-logically linked with Hang Va and Hang Son Doong in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park – the World Natural Heritage Site. This is a 2-million-year-old river cave which you can explore the majority of the cave by walking, wading. From February to April every year, you can also enjoy the freshness with some short swimming opportunities inside the cave. More info
Tu Lan Caves – 1 day: 1,800,000 VND – 2 days: 5,500,000 VND – 3 days: 8,000,000 VND – 4 days: 15,000,000 VND
Hollywood came here in 2016 to make the last King Kong movie. A visit to the Tu Lan cave systems involves jungle trekking, river crossings, underground swimming, and plenty of adventure. Tours go for 1, 2, 3 or 4 days.
Hang Tien – 1 day: 2,000,000 VND – 2 days: 6,500,000 VND – 3 days: 8,500,000 VND
As the largest cave in Tu Lan cave system, Hang Tien is famed for its enormous size and spectacular formations rising up like a layer cake of rimstone pools and lush ferns. To see this cave involves a day trek through beautiful jungles and valleys, and a minority village.
